Saturday, June 21 – Pride Parade delays and detours

ROUTES AFFECTED: Husky Line, Route 1 - Congress Street, Route 2 — Riverton, Route 21 - South Portland (Willard Square - SMCC), Route 24A - South Portland (Broadway - Redbank - Maine Mall), Route 4 — Westbrook, Route 5 - Maine Mall, Route 7 - Falmouth - Portland - Jetport/DHHS, Route 8 - Peninsula Loop, Route 9A- North Deering via Stevens Avenue, Route 9B - North Deering via Washington Avenue, Metro BREEZ
EFFECTIVE DATE: June 17, 2025

 

The 2025 Portland, Maine Pride Parade will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 1:30pm.

The parade steps off from Monument Square and proceeds along Congress Street to Congress Square Park and continues down High Street to Park Avenue where it enters Deering Oaks Park by Mellen Street.

The Pride Portland Festival is held at Deering Oaks Park following the parade, from app. 1pm to 6pm.

Street closures will open after the parade.

Parade street closures from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm (approximate)

  • Preble Street closed from Cumberland Ave. to Congress Street.
  • Congress Street closed between Elm & High Streets.

Bus Route Detours from 11:30 – 3:00 pm

  • Routes  2, 4, and 5 should use bus stops at Elm Street Pulse. The Husky Line will travel inbound on Cumberland Avenue.
  • Route 1, 7, 8, 9, 21 and 24A and BREEZ passengers should board the bus east or west of the parade area, and otherwise use Spring Street. Riders should flag bus operators at major intersections at a reasonable distance.
  • These detours will add travel time.
