Building Maintenance maintains GP Metro’s facilities, grounds, and machinery.

Representative Duties:

  • Maintains CNG compressor including responding to shutdowns during off hours
  • Preventative maintenance and repairs of shop all equipment
  • Air system maintenance (compressors, filters, piping & valves)
  • Garage door maintenance (motors, seals, springs)Bus shelter installation
  • Primary maintenance employee responsible for snowplowing, shoveling and snow blowing. Required to work during and immediately following snow storms
  • Landscaping (mowing, weeding, mulching, etc.)
  • Assess and repair of electrical and plumbing systems
  • Carpentry and painting as needed
  • Coordinate outside contractors for more advanced repairs
  • Clean shop, service lane, pit and serve as back up for utility position (facility cleaning)
  • Maintain records of asset maintenance and repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Good communication (verbal and written) and active listening skills
  • Required ability to work independently, self-motivated and a self-starter, as well as work well in a team environment
  • Ability to respond to urgent facility issues (may be required to respond in case of serious facility issue)
  • Ability to maintain detailed, organized records
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and maintains a high level of integrity with regard to their work
  • Can utilize common sense, company policies and think quickly to adapt and solve problems
  • Can apply knowledge to proactively improve facilities and reduce operating costs

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Occasional standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing
  • Frequent lifting and carrying objects
  • Requires capacity to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
  • Requires the ability to extend hands and arms in any direction.
  • Use of legs and body torso to climb ladders and to lift from over head
  • Capacity to start, stop, control and adjust the actions of machines to achieve desired results.
