Metro Service in Falmouth

Metro loves Falmouth! Falmouth, Maine is served by two fixed route bus services as well as Metro Connect On Demand, which serves approximately 70% of Falmouth’s population, including Falmouth Foreside, West Falmouth Crossing, Falmouth school campuses, and more.

Metro Connect Falmouth is an on-demand service that serves roughly 70% of Falmouth residents from West Falmouth Crossing to Falmouth Foreside. Designed to bring transit service to more destinations while keeping fixed route services as fast and direct as possible, Metro Connect allows riders to connect to fixed route transit services, or simply travel between locations anywhere in the designated zone. Route 7 runs between Shaws in Falmouth and the Portland International Jetport via Route 1 in Falmouth, and Veranda Street, Washington Avenue, Congress Street, and Hutchins Drive in Portland. Route 7 formerly served Route 88 and Oceanview in Falmouth, but this was discontinued in 2024 with the introduction of Metro Connect. Falmouth residents and visitors can use Route 7 for quick and direct access to downtown Portland, Maine Medical Center, the Jetport, and more.

Route 9B primarily serves Portland, running in a counterclockwise direction opposite Route 9A. About half of weekday trips and all Saturday/Sunday trips also run to West Falmouth Crossing to serve Hannaford. Connections between Route 9B and Metro Connect can be made at West Falmouth Crossing Hannaford. Note: Route 9A does not serve Falmouth; round-trip passengers should use Route 9B for each leg of their trip.
