Metro Service in Scarborough

Introducing Metro service in Scarborough! Scarborough is served by three fixed route bus services, as well as Metro Connect On Demand. Metro’s newest route, Route 25, launches in October 2026.

Metro Connect Scarborough is an on-demand service that serves roughly 50% of Falmouth residents and 67% of Scarborough jobs. The Scarborough service zone encompasses roughly the area between Broadturn Road to the south, Highland Avenue to the east, the South Portland Town Line to the north, and I-95 to the west, and generally includes major destinations such as Campus Drive (MaineHealth), Gallery Boulevard (Walmart, Lowes, etc.), The Downs, Oak Hill, Route 1, and Dunstan Corner. Route 24A and Route 24B primarily serve South Portland, but include connections to Gallery Boulevard in Scarborough as well as downtown Portland. Scarborough residents can transfer to Metro Connect to access these routes in the Gallery Boulevard area.

Route 24A runs seven days per week, while Route 24B only runs on weekdays. Their service areas are the same, with some key differences; Route 24A operates on Main Street, Westbrook Street, and Lincoln Street in South Portland while Route 24B operates on Broadway through the same area; on the other hand, Route 24B serves Brickhill and Highland Avenue while Route 24A does not. Both routes serve the Mill Creek Transit Hub and downtown Portland. Due to the length of these routes, they have infrequent service — roughly once every two hours — but most users can use these routes interchangeably. Route 25 is Metro’s newest fixed route service, launching on October 4, 2026. Route 25 runs between Exit 42 Park and Ride in Scarborough and downtown Portland, with service through The Downs and along Route 1 in Scarborough and South Portland, as well as the VA Outpatient Clinic and downtown Portland, where users can transfer to nearly every other Metro route.
